"I learned that winning doesn't always make people happy, there's a lot of back-biting and selfishness and ego gratification. It's not enough for everybody, even when you win, sometimes. I don't know if it's the price of FAME itself or the fact it takes such a heavy toll on our lives that makes it so difficult for all of us."
Don't beat yourself up for mistakes you make while you're learning. Almost as important, don't let other players intimidate you with sharp criticism of your play. There's an immense difference between the combination of education and experience and one's intelligence. An inexperienced player is not an idiot. Everyone has to start somewhere. If you let either self-criticism or other players' criticism destroy your self-confidence, you're probably doomed as a poker player, beccause confidence is a key to success. Remain open to constructive criticism, and remain open to learning, but don't let yourself or anyone else destroy your potential with sharp words.
Thought of the day:
"With great talent, comes great moral obligation."
Thought of the Week:
Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of Nature, because in the last analysis we ourselves are part of the mystery we are trying to solve.
Thought of the Month:
"When our eyes see our hands doing the work of our hearts,
the circle of Creation is completed inside us, the doors of our
souls fly open, and love steps forth to heal everything in sight." by Michael Bridge
Thought of the year:
"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin." by Mother Theresa.
